Davao City – In line with the upcoming 40th Reserve Command, Philippine Army Founding Anniversary with a theme: “Strengthening the Reserve Force towards a Strong Nation”, the regular and reservist personnel under the administration and supervision of 11th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army under the leadership of COL JOSUE M CABERTO MI (GSC) PA participated in the simultaneous conduct of 2nd RESCOM-Wide Blood Donation Activity held at the Hqs 11th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army and in the different Community Defense Centers (CDCs) on August 26, 2023.
The said activity was also in collaboration and partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, Davao Regional Medical Center, Metro Davao Medical and Research Center Inc., Davao Medical School Foundation Inc., Medical Center of Digos Coop Hospital (MCDCH), Marpe Clinic of Sta. Cruz, City Health Offices (Davao City, Tagum City, Mati City, and Digos City), Philippine College of Occupational Medicine, STADA “Caring for People’s Health”, “Dugong Alay Dugtong Buhay", and the 6th Technical Administrative Service.
The main objective of the program is to help those individuals especially the soldiers and their dependents, reservists, and local residents who are in need of blood in order to save lives. There are 536 individuals volunteered as blood donors with a total of 268,000 cc of different types of blood were collected region-wide.
On the other hand, COL CABERTO expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all the participants, blood donors, stakeholders, and the above-mentioned partner hospitals and organizations for their unwavering support, assistance, and cooperation, thus, making the activity a very successful one. “This is one way of sharing our part in saving lives and supporting the advocacy of the Reserve Command, Philippine Army, Caberto said.
