Davao Region – The reservists' personnel and different stakeholders of 11th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army were recognized and received several awards during the culmination of National Reservist Week (NRW) 2023 jibed with the conduct of Regional Mustering of reservists personnel and Stakeholders Awarding Ceremony held at Headquarters 11RCDG, RESCOM, PA Camp San Gabriel, Mintal, Tugbok District, Davao City on September 30, 2023, with LTC NELSON L DAYANGHIRANG GSC PA (RES), Commanding Officer, 1104RRIBn, PA and also the Representative of the 1st District of Davao Oriental as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.
Prior to the said major event, the 11RCDG conducted and participated series of activities which was in line with the NRW 2023 such as: Essay Writing Contes; Virtual Training Facility Tour; Photo/Video Contest, Fun Run, Community Outreach Program, and the Reserve Force Caravan which benefited by 3,956 individuals composed of reservists’ personnel, ROTC Cadets, reservists’ applicants, and civilian populace.
The culmination of 44th NRW 2023 and stakeholders awarding activity, it was attended by 67 organic personnel, 1,071 reservists’ personnel from RRUs and PAARUs, 5,215 ROTC Cadets, and 90 civilian stakeholders/partners. The 11RCDG indeed recognizes the efforts, unwavering services, and significant contributions of the awardees/stakeholders by giving them a plaque of appreciation and certificates of recognition.
On the other hand, Congressman Dayanghirang personally expressed his profound gratitude to 11RCDG and its stakeholders for all the services rendered region-wide not just for the Reserve Force Development but also in support of Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) through socio-economic development. Likewise, BGEN LEONCIO A CIRUNAY JR AFP (RET), the Commander of 111st Standby Division Reserve, PA who served as Guest of Honor and Speaker during the Stakeholders Awarding Ceremony congratulated the 11RCDG and its stakeholders for all the successes and in winning the peace.
He also encouraged the reservist personnel to be more responsive, well-disciplined individuals, and remain to be loyal to the Constitution. Other retired Generals in attendance of the said occasion are MGEN NOLI P ORENSE PA (RES) former Commander, 9ID, PA and Regional Director OCD-XI, MGEN REUBEN S BASIAO PA (RES) former Commander, 10ID, PA and BGEN MANING S TAWANTAWAN PA (RES) former Assistant Division Commander, 10ID, PA.
Moreover, the said activity was also graced by the Filipino Celebrity Chef Pablo “Boy” Lugro who expressed his willingness and support for all the activities of the reserve force within Region XI.
COL JOSUE M CABERTO MI (GSC) PA, Group Commander, 11RCDG, RESCOM, PA thanked and congratulated all his men, reservist personnel, ROTC Cadets, and different stakeholders for bringing honor and pride to 11RCDG. “Let us continue to work hand-in-hand and strengthen our good working collaboration and partnership in support of our supported units and contribute to the maintenance of lasting peace and development in Davao Region”, Caberto said.
