11RCDG Formally Opens BCMT Class 01-2024



Davao City – As part of our efforts on Reserve Manpower Organizational Development,  the 11th Regional Community Defense Group (11RCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army, under the leadership of Col Josue M Caberto MI (GSC) PA, the Group Commander, 11RCDG officially commenced the Basic Citizen Military Training (BCMT) Class 01-2024 on September 21, 2024, at Hqs 11RCDG, Mintal Tugbok District, Davao City with Brigadier General Febie N Lamerez PA, Assistant Division Commander of the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division, Philippine Army, as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

The BCMT class comprises 120 aspiring civilian volunteers from Davao City and the 5 provinces of Davao Region, who will undergo a rigorous 45-day training program. The primary objective of this training is to familiarize participants with the fundamentals of soldiery, military protocols, traditions, skills, and knowledge. Additionally, the program aims to instill a deeper sense of nationalism and voluntarism by transforming these civilians into capable military reservists.

Col Caberto congratulated the aspiring reservists on their decision to embark on this significant journey. He emphasized the importance of discipline, dedication, and perseverance throughout the training. "This 45-day program will not only challenge your physical and mental limits but will also shape your character as future reservists of our nation. I wish you all the best as you embark on this transformative experience," he said.

In his address, BGen Lamerez expressed his gratitude to 11RCDG for inviting him and delivered his remarks to the participants: "Good luck, stay strong, and always strive for excellence. I have no doubt that you will successfully complete the training, and make your families, and our nation proud. Mabuhay ang ating mga reservists! Lamerez said.
