126th Philippine Independence Day Celebration

In celebration of the 𝟭𝟮𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, the 1001st Infantry (Pag-asa) Brigade led by BGEN RONNIE B BABAC participated the Flag Raising Ceremony and Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Davao de Oro Provincial Capitol Grounds, Cabidianan, Nabunturan, Davao de Oro on June 12, 2024.

BGen Babac, being the Military Host, offered the wreath together with the Guest of Honor, Hon Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga, Governor of Davao de Oro. The activity is in honor of the Filipino Heroes who died fighting for Philippine Independence. They were accompanied by PCOL Benedicto F Faco, Provincial Director of the Davao de Oro Provincial Police Office; Fire Superintendent Joycelyn Grant, Provincial Fire Marshal; and CG ENS Jayvee Vincent Gamurot, Deputy Station Commander, Coast Guard Station, Davao de Oro.

In his message, BGen Babac focused on this year’s Independence Day theme of “𝑲𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒂𝒏, 𝑲𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒖𝒌𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒏, 𝑲𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒚𝒔𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒏” where he encourages every attendee to give importance and value the bravery of the people who offered their lives for freedom. He further stressed that this hard-earned freedom should always be remembered and should served as legacy for the future generations.

The activity was also attended by Hon Ruwel Peter Gonzaga, Representative of the 2nd District, Members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, PNP, BFP, PCG, BJMP, National Government Agencies, Line Government Agencies and Provincial Employees of Davao de Oro.

Meanwhile, the 1001st Brigade also conducted Flag Raising Ceremony in its Headquarters, Barangay Mapaang, Maco, Davao de Oro in participation to the simultaneous Ceremony conducted at the General Headquarters, Armed Forces of the Philippines.
