Davao City – In anticipation of Undas 2024, reservist personnel from the 2202RRIBde and 1105th RRIBn, under the 1105th CDC, 11th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army and led by COL REANDREW P RUBIO INF (GSC) PA, Director, 1105th CDC have partnered with local authorities to enhance security measures at MASONIC Private Cemetery, Wireless Public Cemetery, Ochard Private Cemetery, San Pedro Private Cemetery, Forest Lakes Cemetery, Fr Selga St, Davao City, Brgy 8-A, and Chinese cemetery, Davao City on 01 Nov 2024.
Through the initiative "Laang Kawal, Karamay Mo," reservist volunteers are actively engaged in ensuring a safe and respectful observance of Undas. This initiative aligns with the Philippine Army Reserve Command’s mission to contribute to socio-economic development and provide reservists with avenues to serve their communities meaningfully.
As the public gathers to pay tribute to departed loved ones, Laang Kawal volunteers will perform essential roles to uphold visitor safety and convenience. Their responsibilities include:
Crowd Control: Ensuring a manageable flow of people within the area
Safety Monitoring: Observing activities for any security concerns
Visitor Assistance: Providing information, directions, and other visitor support
In addition to these roles, the Laang Kawal team is on standby for emergency response, coordinating closely with local law enforcement and medical teams for prompt action when needed. These collaborative efforts help create a peaceful and solemn atmosphere for families and individuals commemorating their loved ones.
