Davao City — The 11th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army, received seven awards and plaque of recognitions in a prestigious Awarding Ceremony of the Reserve Command, Philippine Army, in connection with the celebration of the 41st Founding Anniversary of the Reserve Command, Philippine Army held in Camp Riego de Dios, Tanza, Cavite on September 1, 2024.
The ceremony honored the outstanding achievements of the Ready Reserve Unit and its members: The 1105th Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion, under the supervision of the 1105th Community Defense Center, RESCOM, PA, was awarded the title of Best Ready Reserve Unit (Infantry Battalion level) of the Year 2024 in recognition of their significant contribution to RESCOM Commands Mission and the Reserve Force Development; C/COL KING LYSTER O ANGIT 1CL, Corps Commander of Holy Cross College of Calinan ROTC unit, was named as the Best Male ROTC Cadet of the Year 2024 for his academic excellence and leadership; LTC NELSON L DAYANGHIRANG, GSC PA (RES), Commanding Officer of the 1104th Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion was recognized as the Best Officer of the Year 2024 (RCDG Level) for setting a motivating standard of dedication and excellence; Sgt Jurramel M Albacite PA (Res), Squad Leader of the 1103rd Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion, was awarded as Best Enlisted Reservist (RCDG Level) for his heroic efforts during disaster relief operations on January 18-20, 2024 at Barangays Maganding and Basak all of Nabunturan Davao de Oro and search, rescue and retrieval operations from February 7-22, 2024 during the Masara landslide at Maco, Davao de Oro. The Bronze Cross Medal was bestowed upon 1LT JOSE R CURAZA JR PA (RES) for acts of heroism of timely Water Search and Rescue Operations from January 17-19, 2024 in Davao del Norte and Sgt Rod Merc L Gascon PA (Res) for his valor in search, rescue, and retrieval operations on February 2-17, 2024 in Barangay Masara, Maco, Davao de Oro; and Sgt Arlene G Redulla PA (Res) was honored with the Military Merit Medal for her heroism during disaster relief and rescue operations during the Tropical Depression “Kabayan” last December 20, 2023. Lastly, an active stakeholder of 11RCDG Helen D. Caberto, RMT, MPA, D Hum, immediate past Administrator of the Philippine Red Cross Davao del Sur Chapter, received a Plaque of Appreciation for her unwavering support in the 11RCDG’s Serbisyo Caravans, RESCOM-Wide Blood Donation Activities and several medical and humanitarian missions from June 17, 2023 to July 19, 2024. COL JOSUE M CABERTO MI (GSC) PA, Group Commander of the 11RCDG, commended the awardees, stating, "These awards reflect the exceptional dedication, bravery, and commitment of our reservists, ROTC cadets, and partners. As we celebrate the 41st Founding Anniversary of RESCOM, their outstanding service shines as a symbol of patriotism and community spirit, inspiring others to uphold these values in service to the nation."
