2202RRIBde and University of Mindanao Forge Partnership


 Davao City – The 2202nd Ready Reserve Infantry Brigade, Philippine Army under the leadership of COL ISIDRO T UNGAB GSC PA (RES) and the University of Mindanao (UM) headed by Dr. Guillermo P. Torres Jr., President/CEO entered into a Memorandum of Partnership Agreement Signing and at the same time video presentation of 2202RRIBde documentation of various programs, projects, and activities in support to Reserve Force Development and in nation-building in general on July 13, 2024 held at the University of Mindanao Main Campus Bolton St, Davao City.   

The said partnership aims to strengthen close coordination and collaboration in terms of assistance and support to Ready Reserve Unit Trainings, joint community outreach programs and services, conduct of ROTC Program, and for the skills and development of reservist personnel to become more effective and efficient in the performance of their duties. 

It was also attended by BGEN LEONCIO A CIRUNAY JR AFP (RES), Commander, 111st Standby Reserve Division, COL JOSUE M CABERTO MI (GSC) PA, Group Commander, 11th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army, COL REANDREW P RUBIO INF (GSC) PA, Director, 1105CDC/Group S7, 11RCDG, some faculty members of UM, Mr. John Paul Seniel, Director/Writer/Producer of iDocu, and reservist personnel from 2202RRIBde who personally witnessed the special event.

The activity was also highlighted by the donning of Philippine Flag patch as part of military uniform to the reservist personnel under 2202RRIBde led by COL CABERTO together with COL RUBIO and other reservist officers.    

Likewise, COL UNGAB reiterated his commitment to actively serve the Reserve Force, reminded his troops to continue performing its best, stressed the importance of Ready Reserve Units in support to the regular units in times of emergencies, natural and human induced calamities, and its significant contribution to peace, security, and development.  

On the other hand, Dr. Torres, who is also the Commanding Officer of the 1st Signal Bn (UMBN), PAARU expressed his gratitude to 2202RRIBde for partnering their institution that will surely contribute to their mandate and overall development in the city. Further, COL CABERTO is optimistic that this partnership will provide a better opportunity in the future. He also added that this initiative will be form part of the best practices of the 11RCDG worthy of emulation. (OS7, 11RCDG)
